Our History
Nestled in the emerald embrace of the Mantiqueira mountains, Rancho Yajé wasn’t just built—it blossomed. It all began with a spark, a shared dream among friends to weave a deeper connection to spirit, to each other, and to the earth. Our community, already a tight-knit family, was bursting at the seams with love, laughter, and the kind of bonds that feel like home. As our circle grew, so did our need for a space to hold it all—a place where hearts could expand and souls could soar.
That’s when the mountains called. One sun-drenched afternoon, our founder, Percio, was wandering along old train tracks, the crunch of gravel underfoot and the whisper of pines overhead. Then, there it was: a clearing that seemed to hum with possibility. It wasn’t just land—it was a canvas for a vision that had been simmering for over a decade in the Campos do Jordão region. Percio saw it clear as day: a sanctuary where we could tend the soil, grow our medicines, and nurture the spirit of our ever-growing family. And so, Rancho Yajé was born.
Bit by bit, with sweat, love, and a whole lot of teamwork, the ranch came to life. A door got a fresh coat of paint, a staircase rose from the earth, a weathered wall was scrubbed clean, and the deck stretched wider to welcome more feet. The founding partners didn’t just pour resources into this dream—they poured themselves into it. Two years on, Rancho Yajé is more than a place; it’s a living, breathing heartbeat, pulsing with the stories of everyone who’s stepped onto its soil.
Picture this: a rustic haven cradled by rolling hills, where the air smells of pine and possibility. Rivers murmur nearby, waterfalls sing in the distance, and the Mantiqueira’s peaks stand like wise old friends watching over us. This is Rancho Yajé—a retreat that feels like a warm hug from nature itself. Here, we’ve cultivated more than just a space; we’ve grown a way of life. Native plants thrive in abundance, a living reserve that gifts us sacred medicines like jagube, chacruna, cannabis, and psilocybin. From these roots, our vision spread to a culinary garden, bursting with herbs and vegetables that nourish both body and soul. It’s as if the land itself conspired with us to create something whole, something holy.

Here, you’ll spend seven days immersed in sacred ceremonies, holistic workshops, and cleansing rituals, guided by Luciana and our skilled facilitators. Finally, we return to the mountains of Campos do Jordão for the grand culmination: the “Big Spell Day,” where you’ll prepare your own ceremonial tea and engage in two days of profound ceremonies, weaving together your entire experience. After this powerful finale, you’ll head back to São Paulo Capital, ready to return home, transformed and renewed.
Our ceremonies follow the Santo Daime tradition, where sacred songs guide participants through a deep spiritual journey in a safe, welcoming, and harmonious environment. It’s a space for healing, self-discovery, and connection — supported by the strength of the ritual, music, and group energy.
Among all the ways to experience this sacred medicine, the ayahuasca brewing process — known as feitio (SPELL) — is one of the most powerful and meaningful. Over the course of four days, the brew is made with care and reverence, starting with the respectful gathering of the vine (cipó) and the leaves (chacrona) directly from the forest.
Men are traditionally responsible for preparing the vine, while women cleanse the leaves with love and intention. Throughout the process, we hold moments of prayer, silence, and sacred songs to maintain a high spiritual vibration.
Participating in the feitio (spell) is more than helping make the brew — it is a transformative journey. It offers a rare opportunity to connect deeply with the forest, the medicine, and the spiritual roots of this ancient tradition.
As part of our retreat experience, we offer daily yoga sessions designed to support your journey with the sacred medicine. These practices are more than just physical exercise — they are moments of integration, grounding, and presence.
Our approach to yoga is gentle, inclusive, and deeply connected to nature. Depending on the day and the energy of the group, classes may happen on the mountaintop, on the beach, or surrounded by the forest. Each setting offers a unique opportunity to connect with the elements — earth, water, air, and fire — and with your own inner landscape.
We adapt the practices to meet the needs of each group, creating a safe and nurturing space for everyone, regardless of experience level. Through breath, movement, and stillness, we prepare the body, calm the mind, and open the heart — helping each participant to fully receive the teachings and insights of the retreat.
Throughout the retreat, nutrition is treated as an essential part of the process of well-being and reconnection. Our plant-based diet is carefully designed to provide lightness, balance, and vitality, fostering a deep transformational experience.
Each meal is crafted by Chef Tiago Tisk, a specialist in plant-based cuisine, who combines fresh, natural, and whole ingredients to create flavorful and nourishing dishes.
Preparing your digestive system for a spiritual plant medicine retreat with a vegetarian diet focuses on reducing gut inflammation, improving digestion, and aligning your body for the experience. Our guidelines for the inicial phase.
Start 5 days detox
Core Dietary Principles - Whole, Plant-Based Foods
• Low Tyramine: Many plant medicines (like ayahuasca) require avoiding tyramine-rich foods to prevent adverse reactions. Skip aged, fermented, or overripe foods like avocados, bananas, sauerkraut, or soy products like miso.
• Light and Simple: Opt for easily digestible meals to reduce strain on your gut. Think steamed veggies, soups, and smoothies over heavy, complex dishes.
• Hydration: Drink plenty of water, herbal teas and fresh coconut water to support detoxification and gut motility.
Sample Daily Meal Plan
• Breakfast: Green smoothie (spinach, apple, cucumber, ginger, chia seeds) or oatmeal with fresh berries.
• Lunch: Quinoa bowl with steamed broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and a tahini-lemon dressing.
• Snack: Fresh fruit (apples, pears) or raw veggies with hummus.
• Dinner: Lentil or vegetable soup with a side of brown rice or a light salad with leafy greens, cucumber, and olive oil.
• Drinks: Herbal teas, water, or fresh vegetable juices (avoiding citrus in this phase).
4. Gut-Specific Tips
• Probiotics and Prebiotics: Support gut flora with prebiotic foods like garlic, onions, asparagus, and green bananas.
• Anti-Inflammatory Foods: Include turmeric, ginger, and leafy greens to reduce gut inflammation.
• Avoid Gut Irritants: Cut out gluten, dairy, and nightshades (tomatoes, eggplants)
• Chew Thoroughly: Slow, mindful eating aids digestion and prepares your body for the retreat’s introspective nature.
5. Additional Practices
• Fasting or Light Eating: We highly recommend a 12-24 hour fast or light eating (just fruit or veggie broth) the day and hours before. - With the exception of participants who have medical conditions
• Detox Support: Gentle practices like dry brushing, Epsom salt baths, or yoga can enhance detoxification and calm the nervous system.
• Mindful Preparation: Eat with intention, reflecting on the upcoming ceremony to align your body and mind.
6. Consult Retreat Guidelines
• Each plant medicine has specific dietary restrictions (e.g., no salt, no citrus, or no oils for some ayahuasca ceremonies). Following our protocol strictly, as it’s often tied to the medicine’s safety and efficacy, minimize all the hardests side effects.
• If you have digestive issues (e.g., IBS, SIBO), or any food alergies, please let us know for tailored advice.
Our chef Tiago Tisk has been delving into preparing and reconditioning us before and after consuming power plants.Reintegrating after a spiritual plant medicine retreat is crucial for grounding your physical body and integrating the mental, emotional, and spiritual insights gained. A vegetarian diet during this phase should focus on nourishment, gentle detoxification, and supporting nervous system recovery while fostering mindfulness. Including a cacao ceremony can be highly beneficial if done thoughtfully, as cacao is grounding and heart-opening, complementing the integration process.

Brazilian native rapé (or rapéh) is a traditional snuff made from a blend of powdered tobacco (Nicotiana rustica, known locally as “mapacho”) and various medicinal herbs, ashes, and sometimes tree bark or seeds, depending on the tribe or region. It’s deeply rooted in the spiritual and healing practices of indigenous groups such as the Huni Kuin, Yawanawá, Katukina, and others in the Amazon rainforest, as well as in parts of the Cerrado and coastal regions.
The primary ingredient is tobacco, which is finely ground into a powder. Unlike commercial tobacco, the indigenous varieties are often more potent and grown without chemicals.
Cultural and Spiritual Use
• Application: Rapé is traditionally administered through the nose using a pipe called a “tepi” (blown by another person) or a “kuripe” (self-administered). The blow can be gentle or strong, depending on the context or the individual’s needs.
• Spiritual Cleansing: It’s used to clear the mind, connect with the spirit world, and open the third eye for visions or guidance.
• Physical Healing: It’s believed to detoxify the body, relieve sinus issues, or treat headaches by stimulating circulation and clearing mucus.
• Ceremonial Role: In retreats or rituals, rapé is often part of a broader experience with Ayahuasca or other plant medicines, helping participants focus, ground themselves, or release negative energies.
Effects
• Physical: Sharp sensation in the nostrils, followed by a release of mucus or tears as the body purifies. It can also cause a temporary nicotine-like buzz or dizziness.
• Mental/Spiritual: It sharpens focus, induces a meditative state, and can lead to insights or emotional purging. The experience varies based on the blend and the user’s intention.
Connection to Your Retreat
In places like Campos do Jordão its uses enhance the transformative journey, aligning with forest medicines and ceremonies, drawing on its traditional role in grounding and clarifying the mind.
Cultural Context
• Respect: In Brazil, rapé is sacred, not recreational. Indigenous communities emphasize its proper use under guidance, as misuse can disrespect its spirit or lead to discomfort.
Kambo is a traditional purgative medicine derived from the secretion of the giant monkey frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor), also known as the “Kambo” or “Sapo” frog, found in the Amazon rainforest. Indigenous peoples have used it for centuries for physical detoxification, spiritual purification, and to enhance hunting skills or resilience. It’s applied to the skin after small burns are made, allowing the bioactive peptides to enter the bloodstream.
Cultural and Spiritual Use
• Physical Cleansing: Kambo is renowned for detoxifying the liver, intestines, and lymphatic system. It’s believed to remove “panema” (negative energy or bad luck) and reset the body.
• Spiritual Purification: It’s used to clear emotional blockages, enhance mental clarity, and prepare for other ceremonies like Ayahuasca, aligning with the integrative focus of your retreat.
• Ceremonial Role: In retreats, Kambo is often part of a broader healing journey, helping participants purge physically and emotionally before deeper spiritual work. It could complement the ocean cleansing phase or the “Big Spell Day” you’ve outlined.
Effects
• Physical: Within minutes, Kambo causes intense purging (vomiting and sometimes diarrhea) as the body expels toxins. Other effects include sweating, a racing heart, dizziness, and a flushed face due to the peptides’ action on the cardiovascular and digestive systems. These typically subside within 20-40 minutes.
• Mental/Spiritual: Users often report a renewed sense of energy, clarity, and emotional release. Some describe a “reboot” of their system, making it a powerful tool for integration and connection during your retreat.
Connection to Your Retreat
• Holistic Integration: Combined with transpersonal psychology and yoga, Kambo it's a bridge to physical healing with mental and spiritual growth.
Cultural Context
• Respect: Kambo is sacred to indigenous communities and should only be administered by trained practitioners who understand its protocols. In Brazil, it’s legal for traditional use, though it’s not regulated by mainstream medicine.
• Indigenous Wisdom: The Matsés, for example, call it “vaccine of the forest,” reflecting its role in strengthening the body against environmental challenges. This ties into your work with forest medicines.
• Modern Use: Kambo has gained popularity in Brazilian urban centers like São Paulo and among international holistic communities, often integrated into retreats for its transformative potential.
Sananga refers to a traditional eye drop medicine made from the roots or bark of the Tabernaemontana undulata shrub (or related species), which grows in the Amazon rainforest. The plant is processed into a liquid extract and used as eye drops by indigenous peoples for both physical and spiritual purposes. It’s part of set of practices, complementing other medicines like Rapé and Kambo.
The roots or bark of the Sananga plant are scraped, ground, and steeped in water to create a potent liquid extract. The process often involves prayers or intentions to infuse the medicine with spiritual energy.
Cultural and Spiritual Use
• Application: Sananga is administered by placing one or two drops into each eye. The eyes are typically kept open to allow the medicine to take effect, though the process can be intense .It’s usually applied in a ceremonial context, often before or after other rituals, to enhance focus and vision—both literal and spiritual.
• Physical Healing: Sananga is traditionally used to improve eyesight, treat eye conditions like cataracts or infections, and alleviate headaches or sinus issues. Indigenous hunters use it to sharpen their vision for tracking game.
• Spiritual Clarity: It’s believed to clear energetic blockages, open the third eye, and enhance intuition. It’s often described as removing “panema” (negative energy or spiritual fog), much like Kambo.
• Ceremonial Role: In rituals, Sananga helps participants ground themselves, focus their intentions, and prepare for deeper spiritual work, such as Ayahuasca ceremonies or the tea preparation on your “Big Spell Day.”
Effects
• Physical: Upon application, Sananga causes an intense burning or stinging sensation in the eyes, often lasting a few minutes. This can lead to tearing, redness, and a temporary blurring of vision as the eyes purge impurities. Some also report a cooling sensation afterward.
• Mental/Spiritual: After the initial discomfort, users often experience heightened clarity, sharper vision (both physically and metaphorically), and a sense of emotional release. It can bring suppressed emotions or insights to the surface, aiding in the integration process.
• Duration: The intense effects subside within 5-10 minutes, but the clarity and energetic shift can last for hours or even days.
Connection to Your Retreat
• Integration and Focus: Sananga’s ability to enhance clarity makes it a perfect fit for the integration phase of your retreat, especially during the beach days in Ubatuba (Itamambuca).
Cultural Context
• Symbolism: In indigenous cosmology, the eyes are a gateway to the soul. Sananga is seen as a tool to “see” beyond the physical, aligning with the retreat’s goal of awakening your highest potential.
We begin with microdosing—using small, sub-perceptual doses of sacred plant medicines like Ayahuasca, Rapé, Kambo, Sananga— and few other more, because it allows your system to gradually adjust to their energies. This gentle introduction helps desensitize any initial resistance, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, while building your familiarity with the medicines’ subtle effects. Over the first few days in Campos do Jordão, you’ll notice increased clarity, emotional openness, and a heightened connection to nature.
To support this process, our talented chef, Tiago Tisk, will prepare your body with a full detox diet for the rest of your journey, featuring only plant-based, organic foods. This carefully crafted menu—rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole foods sourced locally—will cleanse your system, enhance your energy, and align your body with the spiritual work we’re doing. By nourishing you with pure, vibrant ingredients, we ensure your vessel is clean and ready for the medicines, from the mountain days to the ocean cleansing in Ubatuba and back to our final rituals.
Scientifically, microdosing has been shown to enhance neuroplasticity and emotional resilience, which supports the 50 hours of personal development workshops we’ve planned. It’s like warming up before a big run—your body and mind become more receptive, making the full ceremony in the mountains a more transformative and meaningful experience. Plus, it ensures safety; we can monitor how you respond and adjust our approach, especially as we transition to the ocean cleansing phase in Ubatuba and back to the final rituals.
This preparation builds a strong foundation, allowing you to connect the dots of your journey with greater awareness and purpose. By the time we reach the two-day ceremony, you’ll be ready to embrace your miracle with an open heart. Does that resonate with you, or would you like to explore any part of this process further?

This process supports a seamless and secure experience for everyone.
To register, simply fill out the form and wait for our team to contact you.
Are there any restrictions on the use of ayahuasca?
Yes! Ayahuasca, a potent brew of Banisteriopsis caapi (MAOIs) and Psychotria viridis (DMT), has significant restrictions to ensure safety and therapeutic efficacy:
• Medical: Contraindicated for cardiovascular issues, epilepsy, liver/kidney disorders, diabetes, or pregnancy. Avoid medications like SSRIs, antipsychotics, stimulants, or certain supplements due to MAOI interactions, requiring 2-6 weeks tapering under medical supervision.
• Psychological: Unsuitable for schizophrenia, severe bipolar disorder, active psychosis, or acute suicidal ideation, as these may worsen with ayahuasca’s intensity. Mild anxiety or depression is manageable with preparation, but disclose all conditions during screening.
• Retreat-Specific: Adhere to age limits (typically 18+), group guidelines (confidentiality), and ceremonial protocols (white clothing). Complete the mandatory medical/psychological screening (anamnese) to confirm suitability. Be transparent in the screening, alcohol is a triple NO. Avoid any kind of intimacy is a serious request. Consult your doctor about medications, or engage a psychedelic-informed therapist pre- and post-retreat to maximize benefits and manage risks. Contact us for specific restrictions or share your concerns for tailored advice.
I don’t want to participate in ayahuasca ceremonies. Can I still attend the retreat?
Unfortunately, this retreat centers on ayahuasca ceremonies, and we encourage participants to join with the intention of engaging in this experience.
. Do I need to follow a specific diet before the retreat?
While not mandatory, the retreat strongly recommends following a pre-ritual diet and lifestyle guidelines outlined in their anamnesis to prepare for the ayahuasca ceremonies and enhance your spiritual experience. Starting at least three days prior, you should avoid RED MEAT, ALCOHOL, ANY KIND OF DRUGS, and highly spiced or processed foods to cleanse your body and reduce potential interactions with ayahuasca’s MAOIs (tyramine-related risks). A vegetarian diet, like the one we've planned, aligns perfectly with these recommendations, promoting physical lightness and mental clarity. Additionally, reduce stimuli like television, internet, and social media to foster introspection. Upon arrival, further preparation (orientation, sharing circles workshop) will support your readiness.
What are the requirements for participating in the ayahuasca ceremony?
Participants must commit to following the guidance of the Master of Ceremonies and facilitators. They should be in good physical and mental health, free from psychoactive substances or medications that may interfere with the ayahuasca experience. Sincerity and dedication to the process are vital for a deep, transformative journey. All participants must complete the anamnesis questionnaire and participate in a brief interview to confirm their eligibility for the retreat.
What is the intensity of the rituals, ceremonies, and activities? Will they push me beyond my comfort zone?
Self-knowledge encompasses two paths: well-being and transformation. All workshops, courses, experiences, and retreats led by Pierre Stocker focus on human transformation and empowerment. This requires participants to step beyond their comfort zone, embrace polarity, release old patterns, create space, and emerge renewed with fresh energy and perspective. Just as silence allows us to hear sound, chaos clarifies our perception of the cosmos. This profound journey unfolds under the compassionate guidance of the master of ceremonies and a team of experienced therapists, skilled in the medicines offered at this retreat.
